About Mapper2
================
apper2 is small on sizes utility created for
processings and creating of own changes into game maps
Fallout1 And Fallout2 by all wishing them to modify:)

With the help of the program it is possible to change, to edit or
(To make absolutely new maps - in due course) on which in
further it is possible to play these games.

To regret, Mapper yet does not allow at
Simultaneous changing of map, to bring in also change in
scripts of essences located on it (which determine their behaviour
and reaction). Watch for the further versions of the utility. :)

In the registry more any records.

=============
Using Mapper2
=============
All features of work and using of the program Mapper2 are taken
From the answers of his founder on a forum Fallout.ru to the address
of topic: http://www.fallout.ru/forum/Forum12/HTML/000117.html
And also personal experience of work with the program.:)

First of all it is necessary to say that the program can work as
With dat-files directly, and unpacked resources taken from
The given dat-files (master.dat, critter.dat) .Volume of unpacked
Resources about 800 MBYTES.

*** Unpacking ***
For Fallout1 it is possible to unpack with help of the programm from Abel F1Undat.exe
And key of the program " F1Undat -es master.dat ".
(it must be wrotten in command line)
That it is necessary to unpack: From the root catalogue: a file color.pal
From the catalogue art: directories intrface, inven, items, misc, scenery,
tiles, walls
The catalogue Proto.All.

From a file critter.dat such unpacking is required only for a folder
Art\Critters With help of a key " f1undat -ep critter.dat art\critters "
I.e. is taken only from catalogue art: a directory critters.

For Fallout 2 such unpacking can be made with help
of program DatExplorer : http://www.hot.ee/fallout/datexpl.zip

***********
Buttons of the menu.

*** Configuring [button Configuration] ***
Important part of configuring , to specify way to
resources correctly. The first way should be established on a directory
where Fallout placed, i.e. to dat-files. If you have made
it correctly, those all dat-files are displayed on lines below.
If you use the unpacked data that leave the first way
Empty, and in second specify a way to a folder with the unpacked files.

It is impossible to choose the root catalogue.

If you made it correctly then Mapper will offer you to open any
map and to begin updating.

***********
Buttons of the top menu.

The buttons of the top menu are divided into 3 groups characters of
Their actions.

The first group is submitted by base buttons by such as: to create new
File to open a file of a map (*.map a file) ,Save and Save as...
Work of the button a configuration we already have considered.

The second group of buttons is intended for direct work with a map.
The button Switch to move mode (Hand) is intended for viewing and movement
The map in a window of Mapper.
3 Buttons " Switch to select Roof ", " Switch to select Object " and
" Switch to select Floor " are intended accordingly for a choice
(Allocation) of a roof, objects and floor.
In "Select" mode (anyone they can be overlooked ) property of objects
And to change them, and it is possible to allocate group of objects and to remove them.
The options of a choice of group of objects basically are intended for their mass
Removals(distance), which can be made by the button Del or choice button
"Delete" on pressing the right button of a mouse on them.

NB! While selecting a floor and the ceiling is impossible, one kind works only
- Selection of objects.

Following 3 buttons " Draw Floor ", " Draw Objects ", " Draw Roof " are intended
Accordingly for drawing on a map of subjects of a floor, objects (including subjects
And people) and blockings.
The modes draw floor and draw roof are intended only for drawing tiles.
(All subjects from a bookmark of the bottom menu "Tiles") here enter.

The third group of buttons is intended for display or concealment of objects divided
Accordingly into groups. For example it is possible to hide / reveal the characters
or subjects laying on a floor. (Only 7 different groups)

***********
Buttons of the bottom menu.

In the bottom part of the screen under a map a series of bookmarks is submitted
Containing objects grouped on classes. These objects it is possible
To use and to bring in on a map making thus unique locations or editing old.

On the right two buttons - switches under the name from below are located
" Show local Objects " and " Show global Objects " .By default,
The button of display of local objects is included always. (Local are those
objects which are present on this map. These local objects are a subset or part
of global objects). If it does not suit you for some reason, you can be switched
to a choice of display all objects having pressed " Show global Objects ".

They automatically occur in local group in addition of the new objects on the map.
But they do not disappear any more from there in a case of remove.

***********
Addition of a new map in game.

To insert a new map in fallout, there is a small problem
In restriction of the game. It checks the numbers of the maps before loading.
If the errors occur it is necessary to use patch,
Removing restriction in the quantity of used maps in Fallout.

***********
Insert own tiles and items.

Actually it is very simply to insert new tiles , it is necessary to add
In a file "tiles.lst" (in the end of a file) names of files of tiles.
And put these tiles (in FRM-format)in a directory art/tiles. After that,
load mapper2 and in the navigator on Tabs named TILES you will see own tiles.
You should place new "tiles.lst" and pictures of tiles in the appropriate directories
to all this art could be seen in Fallout.
